Staff Reporter, North Lakhimpur: A mid-term meeting of the Assam chapter of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics was held in a befitting manner at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital on June 28 and 29 on theme- "Hormonal Harmony: Basics of Pediatric Endocrinology". A major number of paediatricians from across the state participated in the meeting which focused and held detailed discussion on the health issues that can arise due to hormonal imbalances of the children. In their deliberations, the resource speakers provided guidance on what paediatricians should do in this regard. Paediatricians from Lakhimpur, along with other doctors, contributed to the success of the agenda of . The programme was organized by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics', Lakhimpur branch, under the supervision of Dr. Simanta Saikia, Dr. Bharati Gogoi, and Dr. Aditi Baruah and in association with Department of Pediatrics, Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital. Attending the event as chief guest, Dr. Anju Seth, the Director-cum-Principal and Head Professor of Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi delivered an informative lecture on the theme. A number of esteemed doctors including Dr. Rajiv Dutta, Dr. Phulkonwar Deori, Dr. Queen Baruah, Dr. Moromi Kalita, Dr. Mina Mili, Dr. Abhijit Dutta, Dr. Pranita Bora, Dr. Madhav Das, and Dr. Jayanta Saikia took part in the event contributing to its success. The programmes of the event included poster presentations and several cultural activities. The doctors who came from other states appreciated the organizers for beautifully hosting the event in Lakhimpur. The attending doctors of the event and the organizers extended their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Anju Seth, the Principal of Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi and Head Professor of the Paediatrics Department, for benefiting and encouraging everyone with her insightful speech by arriving in Lakhimpur from distant Delhi.
