Staff Reporter, Guwahati: In a bid to enhance public engagement and highlight governance shortcomings, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) launched the ‘Assam Justice Portal’—a digital platform aimed at documenting administrative failures and addressing citizen grievances. The portal was officially inaugurated at Rajiv Bhawan, the party’s state headquarters in Guwahati, by Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia, in the presence of senior leaders including MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar and Mahila Congress President Mira Borthakur. Speaking at the event, Saikia said, “The Assam Justice Portal is a step toward making the opposition more responsive and bridging the gap between citizens and governance. It will serve as a tool to amplify public voices and hold the government accountable.” Designed as a citizen-interface, the portal allows people from across Assam to report issues in areas such as health, education, infrastructure, sanitation, and Panchayati Raj governance. Submissions will be reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate government departments for follow-up. Congress leaders emphasized that the initiative aims to document ground-level realities, especially in rural and underrepresented areas, and compile data-driven reports to spotlight administrative neglect. Describing the portal as more than just a grievance redressal mechanism, the APCC called it a strategic platform to challenge ongoing inefficiencies in public service delivery across the state.
