Aditya Ankur, Tezpur: Defence Research Laboratory-DRDO, Tezpur celebrated the National Technology Day 2025 at its campus on Friday. In connection with the day an oration was organized on the topic “Bio-engineering approach for landslide mitigation” wherein delivering his speech as chief speaker eminent scientist Dr. Ajitabh Bora emphasized on the nation’s progress of science and technology in the present day context giving focus of the achievement of engineers, researchers and scientists in the field of science and technology. He also congratulated those dedicated scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs who are conferred national awards for bestowing their lives for working to solidify the nation’s position as a global leader in technological innovation. Among others the event was event was graced by Prof Jitender Sharma, Dean Life Sciences, Kurukshetra University, as Chief Guest alongwith Prof. Anil Sindhu, Chairman Biotechnology from DC Ram University of Science and Technology, New Delhi, Prof. Rajinder Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal and Virendra M Mittal, SP, ACB, New Delhi as Guests of Honour. Earlier in his welcome address Centre Head Dr. D V Kamboj apprised about the research and development activities of the centre. The Chief Guest lauded the scientists of DRL for their exemplary effort in development of products such as Iron Removal Unit, High altitude bio-toilet, Capsi-grenade etc. for the services having spin-off benefit and urged to work for development of technologies for the problems faced by the troops deployed in NE region of the country.
