Coal India Guwahati Half Marathon 2023

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, November 29: The inaugural edition of the Coal India Guwahati Half Marathon 2023, announced race day arrangements for the benefit of the participants that are in place for Sunday, 3rd December 2023, including the race route and medical facilities. On the occasion the dignitaries present were Prodip Timung, Director, Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, Guwahati Assam, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Hazarika, ACS. ADC, Kamrup Metro, Major Sudhir Kumar, Indian Army and Dr. Farhan Ali, Senior Medical & Health Officer, Office of Joint Director of Health Services, Kamrup Metro. The event will be attended and flagged off by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Nandita Gorlosa, Sports Minister, Govt. of Assam, Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command, Indian Army along with senior dignitaries from Govt. of Assam, Indian Army & Coal India. The BIB Collection Expo will be held at DTRP Indoor Stadium, Nehru Stadium, Guwahati on December 1 to 2 from 9:00am – 7:00pm. To cater to the overwhelming response from the people of Guwahati & Assam, and to give an opportunity to as many runners as possible, on-the-spot registrations for the event will be available during the two-day expo. There will be NO BIB Distribution on the race day on December 3. All running BIBS will have to be collected by 7:00 pm on Saturday 2nd December 2023. Registrations will not be accepted at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on the race day December 3. Every Runner will receive an Event T-shirt along with an attractive Goodie Bag which will contain Maxirich Pack of 6, Prolyte 2 nos., 3 products from Nivea, 3 products from Hansaplast, Sobisco Biscuit and Cookies & Muffin. Race timings of the marathon will be as follows: Half Marathon at 5:45 am, Open 10K at 6:45 am and Guwahati Fun Run (5K) at 7:30 am. The race route will start with Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai and then national highway left to Bhetapara road, Hatigaon, then to rajdhani Masjid , last gate via Supermarket to G.S Road to from Christianbasti foot-over bridge and back to Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai. Dr. Partha Pratim Das from the Health Dept., Govt. of Assam will be handling the Medical Team & Race Day Emergencies, along with senior doctors from the Indian Army. All nearby hospitals have been instructed to attend to any emergencies on race day. Other basic medical facilities will also be available on the day. The total Prize money for the 1st edition of Coal India Guwahati Half Marathon is Rs.10,00,000. Out of this winners will receive Rs. 32000 besides 1st and 2nd runners up will receive Rs. 28,000 and Rs. 24,000 gradually. Other HM prize funds for 6x9 categories will be divided from Rs. 4,32,000. There will be many attractive gift hampers to be won by the Guwahati Fun Run participants. The Helpline Number of the event is 60029 06331- a release stated.
