Minister Pijush Hazarika visits Desangmukh erosion site

Staff Reporter, Sibsagar, September 3: Water Resource Minister Pijush Hazarika today visited Desangmukh and Aphala erosion site of the Brahmaputra and announced Rs 270 Cr for protection measures .He said that the protection work will begin in the winter months.He said that it was his second visit to Aphala in a year and it would require some minor repairing works over a length of 600 metres in Abhala which will ensure protection of the village. Speaking on the ' One nation ,One election ' issue ,the Minister said he would be very happy to even sacrifice the rest of his tenure as an MLA or a Minister to make that happen. He stressed that it will save huge revenue and work days for the nation. The Minister was accompanied by his strongest critic in the Assembly, Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi, Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain, and a host of BJP activists and officers of the Water Resource Department. While expressing happiness over the Water Resource Minister's announcement s of Rs 270 crore for erosion control measures in Sivasagar Akhil Gogoi told media persons later that the the BJP 's new propaganda for 'One nation, One election' reflects it's autocratic motif which will be resisted tooth and nail by the entire INDIA opposition. Gogoi also said that Minister Pijush Hazarika's criticism of the Congress party in connection with Tea Estate visits, is again an indication of its growing fear of losing the Tea Tribes votes.
