Guwahati, September 1: All Assam Students' Union in short, AASU demanded a probe into the alleged "cash-for-job" scam by a retired judge. In a press release today AASU president Utpal Sarma & general secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah said that the heart of this job scam is situated at the BJP’s headquarters in Guwahati, known as Vajpayee Bhawan. The government, which is always busy beating the development drum, is involved in neck-deep corruption. The recovery of counterfeit job examination identity cards at the residences of BJP representatives and the discovery of evidence related to monetary collections by these leaders, all of which, he claimed, highlight the entrenched corruption within the realm of job appointments. AASU demands a judicial inquiry to identify the high level tagged leaders involved in the scam. 'High level' obviously refers to some ministers, MLAs or big leaders of BJP. AASU also demands a fair recruitment process- they added. It is to be remembered that a woman BJP leader of its Kisan Morcha recently died by suicide and the death was allegedly linked to the "scam" for which Congress blamed "big leaders" of BJP. Five BJP leaders (now expelled from the party) have been arrested so far by Guwahati City Police for their alleged involvement in collecting money from job-seekers.
