Guwahati, July 25, 2021: All Units of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) under Frontier Guwahati have organized Plantation Drive Program in their respective locations in Assam. Sanjeev Sharma, Inspector General Frontier SSB Guwahati has launched Frontier level Plantation Drive at Border Out Post Goabari of 24 th Bn SSB, Rangia on Sunday. Subsequently, Sashastra Seema Bal, Frontier Headquarters, Guwahati (Assam) conducted “Plantation Drive'' at 1 st Bn SSB, Sonapur campus today morning, which was graced by Sonam Bodh, DIG, SSB, Frontier Guwahati along with Shiv Dayal, Commandant 1 st Bn SSB and other senior officers. All officers and officials have actively participated in plantation drives to promote and contribute to the greater objective of “Clean & Green India”.
Around 1100 saplings of various ornamental, fruit bearing and medicinal varieties were planted during this drive, in which 368 SSB personnel with 109 families and civilians were actively participating. Apart from Border Guarding duties, SSB is also actively involved and committed to such initiatives from time to time for protection of the environment in its area of deployment.
