Staff Reporter, Guwahati: Renowned film producer-director from Guwahati and Director of Niri9, Dr Junmoni Devi Khaund, recently met the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Verma, to discuss the upcoming Niri9 International Film Festival 3.0. The meeting centered on plans to host the festival in Hyderabad, aiming to foster cultural exchange between Assam and Telangana. The festival is tentatively scheduled for the last week of November 2025 and will feature competitive categories in Feature Films, Short Films, and Documentaries. The initiative seeks to bridge diverse artistic expressions and connect filmmakers from across regions. According to the organisers, the total prize money for the event will be around ₹4 lakhs, in addition to several individual awards. The rules and guidelines for participation are currently available on the official website: www.niri9.com. Online submissions have already begun and will remain open until October 31, 2025. The proposed collaboration promises to bring new dimensions to inter-state cultural synergy and cinematic celebration.
