Staff Reporter, Silchar: In view of the persistently high temperatures being recorded across Cachar district over the past week, and keeping in mind the safety, comfort, and health of school-going children, the District Administration of Cachar has taken proactive measures to mitigate the effects of the scorching heatwave. After thorough assessment and consultation with relevant authorities, it has been decided that all Government and Private schools within Cachar district will operate under revised timing schedules, effective from June 11, 2025. This change is aimed at minimizing student exposure to extreme heat during peak hours and ensuring a more conducive learning environment during early morning hours when temperatures are relatively lower.As per the new schedule, the timings will be ,for Lower Primary (L.P.) Schools: 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM, Upper Primary (U.P.) Schools 7:30 AM to 12:45 PM and for High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools 7:30 AM to 1:15 PM. This timely initiative has been undertaken with the approval of the District Magistrate, Cachar, and shall remain in force until further orders are issued. The district administration remains committed to prioritizing student welfare and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
