Staff Reporter, North Lakhimpur: The Legal Literacy Club, Panigaon Om Prakash Dinodia College, North Lakhimpur,under the banner of the District Legal Services Authority, Lakhimpur observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, today. The program was moderated by Dr. Rosemin Akhtara, the coordinator of the Legal Literacy Club, Panigaon Om Prakash Dinodia College, who ensured a smooth flow of the program. The program commenced with a welcome speech by the Principal Dr. Suresh Dutta, setting the tone for the insightful discussions that followed. Esteemed guests Prasenjit Das, Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority, Advocate Suren Bora, and Inspector of Drugs Abhinas Deka delivered special talks, shedding light on the ill-effects of drug abuse and strategies to create a drug-free society. A collective pledge was taken by everyone present there to combat drug abuse. The national and state legal services authority theme songs were also played during the program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Priyanka Bharali, Assistant Professor, Department of English, expressing gratitude to the organizers, guests, students, and all the participants for their valuable contributions to making the event successful.
