New Delhi: The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) has announced Bollywood actor and politician Kangana Ranaut as the brand ambassador for the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, set to take place in New Delhi from September 27 to October 5. This marks the first time India will host the prestigious event, which will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and is expected to welcome over 1,000 para-athletes from more than 100 countries — making it the largest para-sporting event ever conducted on Indian soil. PCI President and double Paralympic gold medallist Devendra Jhajharia hailed Ranaut’s appointment as a major milestone in boosting visibility and public engagement around para-sports. “We are thrilled to have Kangana Ji on board. Her passion, influence, and commitment to India's athletes make her a perfect ambassador for New Delhi 2025,” he said. Expressing her gratitude, Ranaut said, “India’s para athletes are rewriting what is possible every single day. Para sport is not just about competition — it is about courage, and I am proud to stand behind our champions.” As brand ambassador, Ranaut will lead awareness campaigns, advocate for inclusion and resilience, and play a central role in inspiring public support for para-athletes in the lead-up to the event. The PCI hopes her involvement will help shift perceptions around disability and spark greater interest in para-sports across the country.
