New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the complete schedule for the 2025 edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, set to take place in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2. The tournament will kick off with a high-voltage opener between hosts India and Sri Lanka on September 30 in Bengaluru. Defending champions Australia will begin their title defence against New Zealand in Indore on October 1. Matches will be hosted across five cities — Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo. The two semi-finals are scheduled for Bengaluru and either Colombo or Guwahati, while the venue for the final, to be played on November 2, will be decided between Bengaluru and Colombo. The eight-team competition will follow a round-robin format, with each team playing every other team once. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals. Warm-up matches begin on September 24, with India set to face England in Bengaluru and South Africa in Guwahati. This will be the 13th edition of the tournament, first held in 1973. Australia, who topped the ICC Women’s Championship standings, lead the pack of qualified teams alongside India, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Pakistan and Bangladesh secured their places through the qualifiers. With the stage set, cricket fans around the globe are gearing up for a month-long showcase of the best in women’s international cricket.
