A Correspondent, Guwahati: A Joint Press Meet was held today at ICAR ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati, to highlight the achievements of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA)—a national outreach initiative launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare in collaboration with ICAR. The campaign aims to bridge science and farming to drive sustainable agricultural growth. Led by Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director of ICAR ATARI Zone VI, the event focused on field-level insights, key accomplishments, and future strategies to strengthen the science-farmer interface. Dr. Kadirvel emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to enhance the effectiveness of agricultural practices and promote technology transfer to farmers. The press meet was attended by leading experts including Dr. Hiranya Bhattacharya (AAU, Khanapara), Dr. V.K. Gupta (ICAR-NRC on Pig), Dr. Gunajit Kashyap (Dept. of Agriculture, Assam), Dr. Rijusmita Saikia (KVK Morigaon), and Dr. Dhirendranath Kalita (CBBO, Kahikuchi), along with ICAR ATARI staff. Speakers acknowledged the positive impact of VKSA in improving livestock and crop management, increasing farmer participation, and ensuring the wider dissemination of scientific knowledge. The event concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to empower farmers and advance the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
