Staff Reporter, Guwahati: Amulya Baruah, an internationally acclaimed creative and graphic designer hailing from Assam, passed away on May 3 in London following a stroke. He was widely respected for his innovative vision and outstanding contributions to the global design industry. Born in Digboi, Assam, Baruah had been residing in London for several decades, where he built a distinguished career in the world of design. He is survived by his wife Lily, a member of the Thai royal family, and son Jasper. An alumnus of Cotton College and the prestigious Sir JJ School of Art in Mumbai, Baruah became a celebrated figure in the global design circuit. Over the years, he led creative campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands, earning accolades for his distinctive style and artistic leadership. His passing is being mourned as a major loss not only for Assam but for the international creative community. Baruah's legacy lives on through his influential work, which continues to inspire designers across the world. His death marks the end of an era, leaving behind a rich tapestry of artistic achievements that bridged cultures and continents.
