Hareswar Bora, Nagaon: The State Water Resource Minister Piyush Hazarika addressed a massive election rally at Raidongia Boribazar in the newly formed Nagaon-Batadroba Assembly constituency today. The rally was held for the Kashamari Zila Parishad constituency. During his address, Minister Hazarika praised the Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, for his leadership and the development initiatives undertaken by the government. He underscored the benefits of various schemes launched by the government, including the recent reduction in electricity tariffs. The Chief Minister has reduced the electricity tariff by Rs 1 per unit, and efforts are being made to further reduce it. Minister Hazarika criticized Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, questioning his love for Assam and India. He mentioned that Gaurav Gogoi's child is a British citizen, raising questions about his priorities. The Minister also alleged that Gaurav Gogoi might have some ties with Pakistan, having recently visited the country. Regarding Bhupen Bora's statement about driving a government car, Minister Hazarika ridiculed him, questioning whether Bhupen Bora was a driver. He suggested that Bhupen Bora should say he would ride in the car instead of driving it. Besides, the Minister also criticized Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, questioning his presence in the area and accusing him of selling Zila Parishad tickets for Rs 30 lakhs. He emphasized that the BJP is a disciplined and developmental party.
