LCC observed Social Justice Day

Staff reporter, North Lakhimpur, September 24: Social Justice Day was observed today at Lakhimpur Commerce College(LCC), North Lakhimpur with calls to maintain justice to all students coming from diverse backgrounds. A meeting was organized by the Equal Opportunity Cell of the college for that occasion which was chaired by Principal Dr. Lohit Hazarika. Mridushmita Hazarika, the convener of the Equal Opportunity Cell explained the objective of the meeting. Sazzad Hussain, HoD of English and eminent columnist attended the meeting as the appointed speaker. In his address Prof. Hussain delivered a brief account of various steps taken by the Government of India to provide social justice in the country after its independence. He also highlighted the tasks to be fulfilled by the Equal Opportunity Cell of the college in maintaining social justice among the students from diverse social backgrounds. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Arupa Dutta of the Education department.
