Awareness meeting on superstition and social evils held

Farhana Begum, North Lakhimpur, May 16: On the occasion of Anti-superstition Day-2025,an awareness meeting on superstition and social evils was held at Garchiga Tribal HS School, North Lakhimpur, organised by Garchiga State Dispensary, North Lakhimpur and in association with the school on May 13 last. In the meeting, anchored by ABPM of Garchiga State Dispensary Chiranjib Borah, SDMO Dr. Parimal Das participated as the resource person. The resource person explained to the students scientifically on several superstitions and social evils related to disease,health and hygiene along with witchcraft. The Principal of Garchiga Tribal HS School Mainul Hoque, in his speech, urged the students to be aware of themselves and to make awareness among the family members,relatives, neighbours and in the society against the superstitions and social evils. A PGT(History) of the school Madhab Pegu also spoke on the occasion. All the teachers and students of the school, Garchiga State Dispensary MO Dr. Pabitra Roy, vaccinator Dipankar Sonowal and ASHA workers were present in the meeting.
