Assam represents at "From Eight with Art" exhibition in Delhi

Hareswar Bora, Nagaon: The Indian International Centre (IIC) is hosting an exhibition titled "From Eight with Art" at the IIC Annexe Art Gallery in Lodi Estate, New Delhi from May 30 to June 5. The exhibition showcases the rich artistic traditions and contemporary expressions of North-East India. Sujit Das, a noted traditional 'Sanchi Pat' (manuscript painting) artist from Assam, is representing the state at this captivating display. The exhibition, curated by Padma Shri awardee Sentila T. Yangfo, will be open to visitors from May 30 to June 5, daily from 11 am to 7 pm. The event is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Tribal Wave. The exhibition brings together artists from Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Sikkim, highlighting the significant contributions of the region's artistic community to the cultural evolution of the area through their art. Sujit Das, a skilled artist recognized by UNESCO, Cambridge, and the Guinness World Records (2012), creates traditional Assamese manuscript art using handmade bark paper and natural color pigments. His work showcases the rich cultural heritage of Assam and the North-East region.
