Medical camp for the veterans held at Digboi

Staff Reporter, Tinsukia, October 20: Digboi Battalion of Red Shield Division under the aegis of Spear Corps organized a medical camp for the veterans of the region on October 20, as part of their outreach programme for Ex-servicemen. The battalion reached out to the veterans of the region and informed them about the medical camp being conducted for them. Around 160 veterans were contacted, out of which 77 could attend the camp. As a concern for our veterans and ensuring their well being, the unit Medical Officer conducted their medical check up and provided them with proper medicare.The officers and men of the unit got a chance to interact with the veterans. The unit was also concerned if the veterans were facing any other issues regarding pay and allowances and assured them that all issues will be addressed. Our veterans have dedicated their life to the nation and now it’s our time to look after them. As a concern for our veterans, this outreach program was aimed at ensuring their well being and redressal of their grievances, if any.
