Sarvajanin Milan Mandir Durga Puja gears up to celebrate Golden Jubilee

Staff reporter, Dhakuakhana, September 29: Dhakuakhana Sarvajanin Milan Mandir ready to celebrate Durga Puja with pomp and gaiety. One of the oldest Durga Pujas of Lakhimpur, Dhakuakhana Sarvajanin Milan Mandir Durga Puja will turn 50 years this time. Last year, due to Covid19 pandemic, the Durga Puja celebration was not possible with idols at Dhakuakhana. But this time, the puja will be celebrated following all rituals from October 1 to 5 with a budget of Rs 8 lakh. Different types of competitions such as Aarati, Uruli, Shankh playing etc. to organize during puja. The organizing committee is looking forward to the attendance of the devotees and spectators on all the days of the Puja. Similarly, one of the historical temples of the city, Sri Sri Thakur Bari Mandir, Sri Sri Ishwari Harhi Devalaya (Gosani Than), Sri Sri Ma Manipuri Than, also gears up to celebrate the Puja. This year, ducks, goats, buffaloes, etc. will be sacrificed to worship Durga maa.
