Laharighat, July 18: In yet another victory in the war on drugs, Laharighat police arrested six drug peddlers on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off regarding selling of illicit drugs, the Laharighat police conducted a search operation on Sunday evening and recovered 48.55 grams contraband drugs, two mobile phones, an Xylo vehicle bearing registration no AS04 AC5731 and arrested two drug peddlers . Police claimed the drugs were carried from Dimapur to supply the entire Morigaon. The arrested drugs peddlers have been identified as Rafikul Islam (29) of Dhekiajuli and Siddik Ali (32) from Bhuragaon. OC Laharighat, Amir Hussain said the items have been seized as per procedure and a case No 286/2022 under Section 21 (b)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 has been registered against them at the Laharighat Police Station. In another joint operation Laharighat and Morigaon police raided Tengaguri and arrested four drug peddlers. Police recovered 31 Nos drugs filling containers, four mobile phones and six thousand cash in their possession. The drug peddlers have been identified as Amir Hamza, Inamul Hoque, Motibur Rahman and Anarul Hussain. The people were sent to Morigaon district Jail today.
