Which is the shield of protection of Majuli. There are many hectares of land already eroded by the Brahmaputra. There are more than 20 cattle breeders in the area. There are many people who have been affected by the floods in Lachan Chapari, 2 No Banaria Chapari, Dhanai Chapari and Bagariguri. There are also reports of floods in the Ratanpur Gayan Gaon Panchayat. The residents of Shalmara Mouza in upper Majuli have expressed concern that none of the ruling party governments in the state has been able to prevent the erosion of the Brahmaputra since the 1950 earthquake. It is very sad that the Brahmaputra Board, the body responsible for the geographical protection of Majuli, is not paying any attention. The residents of Majuli are worried about the silent role of the All Assam Mising Students' Union (TMPK) and the All Assam Students' Union (AASU). Therefore, the local people demanded, the departmental authorities should inspect the areas and take scientific measures to prevent erosion as soon as possible.
