North Lakhimpur, July 24: Women Development Centre (WDC), an NGO working in North-East India, organized an emergency flood relief distribution program supported by MANOS UNIDAS, Spain at Gosanibari village under Nowboicha Development Block in Lakhimpur district today. The flood relief items were food kit, sanitary kits, detergent kit, plastic mat, water filter, tarpaulin, torch light with battery, baby food, mosquito nets, bleaching powder, fodder for cattle etc. The items were distributed among the flood- affected people of five villages under Nowboicha Development Block. The project director of WDC Bhagyawati Bhuyan took the leadership in the program on behalf of the director of WDC Sister Betsy Devasia. A total number of 564 families received emergency flood relief aid in the program. The program coordinator Sanju Singh, the ward member of Gosanibari ward Dipa Saikia, supporting staff Puwaram Borah, Debo Bhuyan and Kaleb Tirkey were the main pillars who made today's emergency camp a great success. The program will be concluded tomorrow at the same area, informed the project director of WDC Bhagyawati Bhuyan. It is to be mentioned that WDC are serving the needy people across the state who are affected by the recent flood.
