Electricity Playing Hide and Seek with people in Majuli

STAFF REPORTER, Majuli, July 17: The frequent power failures for the last about 3 days in Majuli caused the worst suffering to the residents in these three days. In these summer seasons, it becomes unbearable to do any work without electric power for even a few minutes. But you can imagine a lot of people when they have to go without electric power for the whole day and night. It's been noticed a shower of rain stops the electric power supply for about 10 hours to 12 hours. Residents of Lachan Baligaon, Lachan gaon, Chikari gaon, Dhonai Chapori gaon are saying that it's been a very poor electric power supply in those areas in spite of paying regular electricity bill with their daily earned wages.When enquiries are made from the nearest station, no satisfactory answer is given. Old men, students and pregnant women are the worst sufferers. Which is very unfortunate. Therefore the residents of Lachan Baligaon, Lachan- Chikari ,Dhonai chapori request the concerned authority to look into the matter and improve the power supply of these areas immediately.
