North Lakhimpur, July 17: Under the aegis of All Assam Goriya-Moriya-Deshi Jatiya Parishad (AAGMDJP) Lakhimpur district committee, a huge public meeting was held at Sensowa LP School, North Lakhimpur today under the presidentship of Syed Shoriful Hussain, president,AAGMDJP Lakhimpur district committee. The objective of the meeting, anchored by AAGMDJP Lakhimpur district committee joint general secretary Mehsin Alom and AAGMDJP Lakhimpur district committee executive president Bodrul Hussain, was explained by AAGMDJP Lakhimpur district committee joint general secretary Nazrul Ali Hazarika. Attending in the meeting as the chief guest, prominent advocate and leader of indigenous Assamese Muslim, Nekibur Zaman urged the people to acquire their rights from the Government as indegenous Muslims, otherwise our future will become danger. He warned the people to be aware of the Mirjafars that existed in the groups of indegenous Muslims, e.g. Goriya, Moriya and Deshi. "The indegenous Muslims of Assam have an ancient history, and we must reinnovate that history again now",he reiterated. In his deliberation, Nekibur Zaman briefly described the origin, development and future planning of AAGMDJP. AAGMDJP Central Committee executive president Nurul Hoque and joint general secretary Sohid Ali Ahmed, Retired Vice principal of LTK College Dr. Hamidur Rahman, youth social worker Rekibuddin Khan and Asom Jatiya Yuva Parishad Lakhimpur district committee president Mubin Ahmed also spoke in the meeting. A number of dignitaries of Lakhimpur district belonging to Goriya, Moriya and Deshi groups, including eminent columnist and educationist Prof. Sazzad Hussain, were present in today's public meeting, besides around one thousand people of the said indegenous groups from various parts of Lakhimpur district.
