Staff Reporter, Guwahati: The Rotary Club of Guwahati celebrated its Charter Day with great enthusiasm and warmth, marking the foundation of the club and its continued commitment to service and fellowship. The occasion was made even more special as it coincided with the pre-birthday celebration of legendary singer Kishore Kumar, creating an evening filled with nostalgia, music, and camaraderie. This is the first time that the Charter Day was celebrated on the day of signing the instrument, said Prabhat Kedia, who was DG of RI District 3240 for record twice. History of the club was remembered nostalgically by S R Saikia, Dilip Das, Dr Gautam Sarma and President. They all remembered the continuous community service rendered by the club for the past seven decades. The event featured a soulful musical soiree dedicated to the timeless melodies of Kishore Kumar. Rotary members paid tribute to the musical maestro by singing some of his most iconic songs, rekindling memories of the golden era of Indian music. Manash Mazumdar and the President Manoj Kr.Das took the lead in organizing the event, blending Rotary fellowship with the rich cultural legacy of Indian music. His efforts were widely appreciated as the members came together to celebrate Rotary Day not just as a formal occasion, but as a joyous gathering of hearts united through music and service. The evening was a delightful blend of celebration and reflection, reminding everyone of the club's mission and the enduring power of melody in bringing people together.
