Staff Reporter, Guwahati: The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) today reinforced its commitment to encouraging higher education and curbing brain drain from the Northeast by organising the Scholarship Award Letter Distribution Ceremony for newly admitted students of the Academic Year 2025–26. More than 500 students across various programmes received scholarships under multiple categories, including Merit, Endowment, BPL, Community-based, Sports, and for wards of Military, Paramilitary, and Police personnel from the region. The awardees are entitled to fee waivers ranging from 100% to 25%, depending on their academic performance, achievements, and contributions. In addition, the University recognised 72 students with the Semester Topper Scholarship for their outstanding performance in the Even Semester Examination 2024–25. Each of them will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹3,000. Another 15 students, who are already beneficiaries of other prestigious scholarships, were felicitated with Certificates of Merit. The occasion also celebrated 15 outstanding achievers who brought laurels to RGU by winning at the 38th Inter-University National Youth Festival 2024–25, hosted by Amity University, Noida. They were honoured with Certificates of Appreciation and will be entitled to fee concessions as per the University’s policy. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including RGU Chancellor Dr. A.K. Pansari, Major General R.K. Jha, AVSM (Retd.), Director (Personnel), NEEPCO; Major General A.K. Sharma, GOC, 51 Sub Area, Guwahati; Registrar (Administration) Prof. Diganta Munshi, Registrar (Academics) Prof. D.N. Singh, alongside deans, heads of departments, and faculty members. Delivering an inspiring address, Major General R.K. Jha reflected on the importance of resilience and adaptability. “Failure is the reason for my success.
