Indian Army launches Exercise Samanvay Shakti 2025

Bikash Baruah, Margherita: The Indian Army has initiated a landmark collaboration with the state administrations of Assam and Manipur to foster efficient cooperation, cohesion, and mutual understanding between security forces and civil institutions. Exercise Samanvay Shakti 2025 was formally inaugurated today at Laipuli in Upper Assam. The Military-Civil Integration Exercise is designed to enhance synergy among security forces, government departments, and civil organisations in addressing the region’s complex challenges through a unified and coordinated approach. The inaugural session brought together the Indian Army, District Administration, Police, Intelligence Agencies, NDRF, SDRF, Medical Officials, BRO & GREF, Railways, educational institutions, and security officials from OIL India, IOCL, and Coal India, alongside members of the local media. A parallel exercise will be held in Manipur from August 20–30, focusing on diverse themes such as disaster management, healthcare, education, public works, forest initiatives, narcotics control, irrigation, road safety, employment opportunities in the armed forces, and sports development. It will also include coordination mechanisms among the state police, Army, and paramilitary forces, as well as infrastructure development initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna. Spanning 10 days, Exercise Samanvay Shakti 2025 aims to refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), establish unhindered channels of communication, and build an improved state of readiness through practical rehearsals. More significantly, the exercise seeks to strengthen the bond of trust between the people of Upper Assam and Manipur and the institutions serving them. By fostering preparedness for security challenges and driving socio-economic development, it is expected to contribute meaningfully to nation-building and reinforce the spirit of national integration.
