Bangladeshi Transgender Arrested in Dhubri

Selim SK, Dhubri: A sensational incident occurred in Dhubri amid ongoing operations by Assam Police against Bangladeshi nationals. Acting on complaints from a group of transgenders, the police have arrested a Bangladeshi transgender individual in Dhubri. Several Bangladeshi transgenders had reportedly been living for the past four years in the Ayaranjangla Bagulamari area on the outskirts of Dhubri town. The arrested individual has been identified as Sharmin Khatun, a resident of Satkhwa Nagla Bazar in Mymensingh district, Bangladesh. According to the complainants, Sharmin Khatun has already admitted to being a Bangladeshi citizen. The group of transgenders also alleged that several Bangladeshi transgenders have been living in Dhubri for a long time and are actively involved in a flourishing illegal drug trade. Police investigations into the entire matter are currently underway.
