Aditya Ankur, Tezpur: A Military-Civil Fusion Workshop was conducted at Nafra, headquarters in Bichom District, Arunachal Pradesh under the leadership of the Blazing Sword Division of the Indian Army today. The event brought together senior Army officers, Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, officials from key civil departments, ITBP, and tribal leaders to strengthen coordination for development and security in this vital border region. In his address, the Brigadier called the workshop a platform for mutual trust and shared responsibility, especially in sensitive frontier areas. DC Bopai reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to working closely with the forces, stating that development and national security must progress hand in hand. The SP emphasized engaging the youth, skill development, and curbing drug abuse as common priorities. The Army highlighted initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna, including National Integration Tours, medical and eye-care camps, computer distribution, and assistance in establishing a Vocational Training Centre at Bana to support local Self-Help Groups. Participation in cultural events like Ching Dang, and national celebrations on 15 August and 26 January, were acknowledged for fostering unity. Army-supported infrastructure projects—such as a Transit Facility, Community Hall, and Overhead Water Tank—have directly benefited local communities. Plans to promote adventure sports and develop a Rafting Node at Nafra were also discussed to encourage tourism and youth engagement.
