Itanagar: In a landmark moment for Arunachal Pradesh, 21-year-old Longku Komal from Kamle district was crowned Miss Universe Arunachal Pradesh 2025 at a glittering ceremony held at Kalawangpo Hall in Tawang. Komal’s victory places her in the national spotlight, as she prepares to represent the state at the Miss Universe India 2025 pageant. The event drew widespread attention, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu attending as the chief guest, Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini as guest of honour, and MLA Lekang Likha Soni among the distinguished attendees. Emerging victorious after a fiercely contested competition featuring participants from across the state, Komal impressed the judges with her grace, intelligence, and confidence. Her performance in both traditional and contemporary rounds solidified her status as a worthy ambassador for Arunachal Pradesh. The winner received a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh, while the first and second runners-up were awarded ₹1.2 lakh and ₹1 lakh respectively. “This platform is more than just a beauty contest — it’s a celebration of culture, identity, and aspiration,” said one of the organisers. The pageant included segments highlighting regional traditions, communication skills, and social awareness, reflecting the diverse talents of the state’s young women.
