Kohima: In a prompt and well-coordinated operation on June 15, the Kohima Police from Chiephobozou Police Station successfully intercepted a stolen dumper truck reported missing from Assam. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the spot, marking a major breakthrough in efforts to curb cross-border vehicle thefts. Acting on specific intelligence, the police team executed the operation swiftly, halting the vehicle and taking the accused into custody. The recovery of the truck comes amid rising concerns over inter-state vehicle theft networks in the region. “Demonstrating razor-sharp alertness, a team of Kohima Police scored yet another significant breakthrough,” said a police source, highlighting the strategic use of intelligence and operational readiness. The arrested driver is currently in police custody, and authorities believe this action is a key step toward dismantling organized vehicle theft rings operating across state borders. Efforts are now underway to handover the recovered truck and the accused to the Assam Police. A team from Assam is en route to Kohima to take custody of both, reflecting the seamless cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two states. The Kohima Police’s swift response underscores their commitment to public safety and sends a strong message to criminal networks operating across North East India.
