B.H.B. College observes World Environment Day

Staff Reporter, Bajali: In a spirited celebration of World Environment Day 2025, B.H.B. College, Sarupeta, organized a series of impactful awareness events under the global theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The programme was held at Chauliabari High School premises in Bajali district. The initiative was jointly conducted by the National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), and the Eco Club of B.H.B. College, in association with the college’s Adoption Cell, Extension Cell, and IQAC. It was sponsored by the Pollution Control Board, Assam. A key highlight of the day was a video screening and lecture by Manashjyoti Das, Nodal Officer, Environmental Science, who emphasized the urgent need to reduce plastic usage and adopt eco-friendly habits. Sapling plantation drives were also carried out as part of the event. Tabil Hussain, Headmaster of Chauliabari High School, expressed gratitude to Dr. Nayan Jyoti Das, Principal of B.H.B. College, for selecting the school as the venue for the day-long programme. Dr. Jahnu Bharadwaj, Programme Officer of NSS, anchored the event, which successfully engaged students and the local community in environmental awareness and action.
