Arunachal Congress appoints Bosiram Siram as new chief

Itanagar: Senior Congress leader Bosiram Siram has been appointed as the new President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), replacing Nabam Tuki. The announcement was made through an official communication from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), stating, “Congress President has appointed Bosiram Siram as the new President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect.” The party also acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of outgoing PCC President Nabam Tuki. The change in leadership comes a day after Arunachal Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, speaking on June 17, claimed that the northeast has seen significant development since the BJP-led government took charge at the Centre in 2014. He alleged that the region had been “neglected for decades by the previous Congress regime” but has gained the Centre’s focused attention over the past 11 years. Siram’s appointment marks a fresh chapter for the Congress in the state as it prepares to revamp its strategy ahead of upcoming political challenges.
