A Correspondent, Guwahati: The Assamese short film Ansuni Chinkhe, written and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, has earned widespread recognition, emerging as a standout work in Indian and international cinema. Produced by Mina Mahanta and Indrani Baruah, the film features acclaimed actress Seema Biswas in a powerful solo performance. At the Indian Independent Film Festival in Kolkata, Ansuni Chinkhe was awarded Best Short Film, applauded for its compelling narrative and minimalist execution. Earlier, it was featured in the Worldwood International Panorama at the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2025, where it won Best Director (Dr. Mahanta) and Best Actress (Seema Biswas) in the short film category. The film also won Best Short Film at the Delhi Short Film Festival 2025, reaffirming its critical success across platforms. A major highlight was its inclusion in the online segment of the Marché du Film at Cannes, granting it global visibility and praise.
