21 Stolen Batteries Recovered Near Rupsi Airport

Selim SK, Dhubri: In a significant breakthrough, a joint police operation on Tuesday led to the recovery of 21 stolen batteries believed to have been taken from Rupsi Airport near Dhubri, Assam. The raid was conducted at a shop named New Battery House in Gauripur by Gauripur Police, in coordination with Rupshi Out Post Police from Kokrajhar district and airport authorities. The operation followed a confidential tip-off regarding the stolen property. During the raid, police arrested Azibar Ali Sheikh, who is suspected to be involved in the theft. He has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated at Kazigaon Police Station in Kokrajhar. The recovered items include 21 units of Amaron Quanta 42AH, 12V batteries, which were reported missing from the airport in recent days. Police sources believe the theft was premeditated and may involve more individuals. Authorities are continuing their investigation to trace the full extent of the theft and identify any additional suspects involved in the incident.
