Staff Reporter, Guwahati: In a major legal development, the Gauhati High Court on Thursday granted bail to Tarkik Borah, also known as Tapan Borah, and Bishal Phukan in the final pending case linked to a trading scam registered at Barbaruah Police Station in Dibrugarh. The bail was granted by Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia, signaling a possible end to the duo’s months-long incarceration. Both Borah and Phukan had been under judicial custody on charges related to fraudulent trading activities. Despite the court's order, their release from Guwahati Central Jail remains delayed due to procedural formalities and the unavailability of the official bail order copy. Meanwhile, co-accused Sumi Bora continues to remain in custody as her bail application is still under judicial consideration. The case has drawn considerable attention due to its financial implications and the involvement of multiple individuals. With the granting of bail, the spotlight now turns to the legal proceedings that will follow.
