Mangaldai, January 25: Acting on a tip off, Mangaldai police have apprehended four hackers accused of stealing money from numerous individuals by hacking their bank accounts. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement conducted an operation leading to the arrest of the suspects, who had set up operations in Darrang district. The arrested individuals were identified as Chakib Choudhury from Guwahati, Bikram Neog from Sivasagar, Pranjit Saharia from Sipajhar, and Rudu Ali from Mangaldai. Authorities seized mobile phones and incriminating documents during the operation, which revealed that the suspects had conducted fraudulent activities across Assam and other states. Police have registered a case under MLD PS 14/25/US/316(2)/318(4)/336(3)/340(2)/61(2) BNS and presented the accused in court, following which they were remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is going on.
