It is to be mentioned that the veteran journalist Anil Baruah’s journey came to a poignant close at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati at 6:50 PM on November 28. The stalwart journalist had been battling a heart ailment, and his health had taken a critical turn, leading to his admission at 1:44 AM on the same day at the age 84. Despite the relentless efforts of the medical team, Anil Baruah succumbed to his illness, leaving behind a void that will be hard to fill. Anil Baruah dedicated his life to the journalistic field and played a pivotal role in shaping the media landscape of Assam. His unwavering commitment to the profession earned him immense respect and recognition not only among his peers but also in the hearts of the people of Assam. Anil Baruah’s illustrious career reached its zenith during his tenure as the editor of Dainik Asom, where his editorial prowess and commitment to journalistic ethics set high standards.
