Guwahati, July 2: Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika critised the new bonding of 3 Gogois over delimitation draft protest. It is to be mentioned that a meeting was organised recently in Sibsagar district to protest against the delimitation draft under the leadership of Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal President Akhil Gogoi, AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Deputy Leader of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi. In an insulting manner Hazarika said that all three Gogois are heavy weighted political leaders. In spite of that they were able to gather just about 300 people in their meeting. It's really shameful. Going one step ahead Hazarika also said that Akhil-Lurin-Gaurav skillfully forced the opposition leader Debabrata Saikia and Rakibul Hussain to stand aside from the limelight. Akhil-Lurin-Gaurav tried to take advantage of the delimitation draft to establish their political career in upper Assam. They are also using Ahom sentiments for their personal benefits. Hazarika said that the delimitation exercise of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies should secure the future of the indigenous people of Assam. Unlike the unsuccessful NRC, delimitation can save the future of Assam for at least two decades by ensuring the State Assembly is less affected by demographic changes.
