AAP suspended Kamal Medhi over controversial remark

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, July 5: Political leader Kamal Medhi was recently removed from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for making disparaging remarks about Ahoms in general. Throughout his turbulent political career, Kamal Medhi has been affiliated with a number of political groups, including the Congress, Raijor Dal, and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity. He finally joined the AAP, but now he must deal with the fallout from his divisive remarks. He joined the AAP despite switching allegiances before dealing with the fallout from his remarks. The decision to dismiss Medhi was made in response to his most recent anti-Gogoi comment, which caused fury within the party and drew criticism from the general public. Kamal Medhi, who was obviously devastated by his expulsion, posted his feelings on Facebook. However, his political aspirations may have come to an end with this expulsion. Notably, Kamal Medhi ran for the Patacharkuchi Assembly constituency in 2021 but lost the election. Although Medhi had already apologised for the "anti-Ahom remarks," the decision stated that he had violated party ethics by making later, more contentious remarks on social media. He was therefore immediately suspended as a result of this.
