CATC camp concludes at NCC ACADEMY

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, January 23: The 5 ASSAM Battalion NCC conducted CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp) NCC Academy with effect from 15 January to 22 January at NCC Academy, Jorhat. The camp was attended by 204 Cadets from various schools & colleges of Darrang, Udalguri, Sonitpur & North Lakhimpur Districts, stated a press release issued by the 5 Assam Battalion NCC. Besides imparting training to the NCC Cadets on various subjects like Map Reading, Weapon Training, Field & Battle Crafts, the cadets also witnessed presentation of Army & IAF Recruitment. Brigadier S S Gill, the Group Commander, Tezpur Group visited the Camp on January 20 and interacted with the Cadets. He addressed the cadets and exhorted them to become responsible citizens and to live up to the motto of NCC 'Unity & Discipline'. The Group Commander also stressed on the importance of working hard and excelling in academics. He also awarded the Cadets who excelled in various competitions organised during the Combined Annual Training Camp. The Annual Training Camp concluded on January 22 with a campfire which culminated with the inquisitive & vibrant cadets chanting 'Joi Aai Asom' to the tune of a popular Assamese song.
