Assam Governor inaugurates Multimedia exhibition

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, January 18: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated a Multimedia Exhibition on “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-Unsung Heroes of the Northeast” at Assam Engineering Institute playground in Chandmari today. Speaking at the inaugural function which was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the Governor said that the multimedia exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav –Unsung Heroes of the Northeast is a great initiative for the public especially the younger generation to learn about the valour and sacrifices of the freedom fighters of North East. He also said that on the occasion of 75th year of India’s Independence which is being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is really an honour to remember the brave-hearts of the Northeast of the freedom struggle with great admiration and respect. Prof. Mukhi also said, “While it is an important achievement to have celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is equally important to pursue our Amrit Kaal that is the coming 25 years of our nation even more dedicatedly. The time of our Amrit Kaal is not for dreaming while sleeping, but for fulfilling our resolutions awake. Referring to the Prime Minister who always stresses that the coming 25 years are the period of utmost hard work, sacrifice and dedication, Prof. Mukhi urged upon the people at large to devote themselves on the mission to regain the lost glory of the country. The Governor also expressed happiness to learn that the Central Bureau of Communication, Guwahati has mounted more than 50 Exhibitions on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the past years which according to him succeeded in generating awareness among the people the love and affection for the freedom fighters and the leaders of the yesteryears. He also said that the exhibitions are also contributing in several ways in strengthening the feeling of patriotism. They are acting as tools to generate awareness about the past legacy of the country. MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Mayor GMC Mrigen Sarania, Director General of North East Zone, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting B. Narayanan and a host of dignitaries were present at the event.
