Asom Jatiyatabadi Yoba Parishad submits memorandum

Staff Reporter, Dibrugarh, October 29: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad submitted a memorandum to the union minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur through the Dibrugarh Deputy commissioner on October 29 regarding shutting down the All India Radio daily Assamese news bulletin from the Dibrugarh station. Prasar Bharati had discontinued the Assamese news bulletin from October 24 as per their cost-cutting policy. The 5-minute Assamese news bulletin which was aired daily from 6 pm. AJYP urged the government and concerned ministry to consider the matter and resume the Assamese news bulletin. It is to be mentioned that AIR Dibrugarh, which was established on February 15, 1968, is India's sixth biggest medium wave radio station, transmitting in both AM (567kHz) at 529.1 metres of MW and FM (101.30MHz) bands three times a day, with a 5-minute regional news bulletin at 6 PM every day.
