750 grams of Heroin seized: 3 arrested

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, October 17: Assam police seized around 750 grams of heroin hidden inside a four-wheeler vehicle near Saraighat bridge in Guwahati, officials said on Monday. During a joint operation of Guwahati police and Kamrup Police led by Joint Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak intercepted the vehicle and recovered 750 gm heroin The police team also apprehended three persons including one woman. According to sources, the vehicle was headed for West Bengal. Taking to Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, “In a joint operation, @GuwahatiPol& @KamrupPolice have seized 750 gram Heroin, hidden inside a four-wheeler vehicle near Saraighat bridge. The vehicle was on its way to a neighbouring state. Three accused have been apprehended.”
