Pramod Chandra Brahma Sahitya Puraskar conferred to Amrit Narayan Patgiri

Staff Reporter, Chirang, September 7: Renowned Bodo litterateur Pramod Chandra Brahma Sahitya Puraskar for the year 2021-22 was presented to Amrit Narayan Patgiri, a resident of Basugaon, on Teachers' Day on September 5. The award was presented at the RCC auditorium of Dhaligaon Township in Chirang district. Patgiri was born in December 1951 in Tilakgaon village in the erstwhile undivided Goalpara district and now under Basugaon police station of Chirang district of BTR in the womb of late father Surendra Narayan Patgiri and in the womb of late mother Tanteswari Patgiri. He was educated at Tilakgaon JB School No. 337 in His village. He gradually studied in various schools and colleges and earned his M.A. degree in "Assamese" (Group B) privately in 1989. In the midst of financial constraints and misery, he joined Kalipukhuri higher secondary school under Kokrajhar district and salakati higher secondary school in 1973 and 1975 respectively after being the founder headmaster, on October 25, 1976, as an assistant teacher. In 2011, he was awarded the State Award for The Teacher. Patgiri retired as in-charge Vice-principal on December 1, 2011. In 2012, he was appointed as a state award-winning teacher from the Education Department of the Government of Assam for a year. During the academic years 2016 and 17, he diligently served as an Assistant Resource Person (ARP/ Academic Inspector) under the Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhijan (RMSA) in Chirang district. He continued his relentless literary pursuits even in the midst of such a busy schedule. Apart from writing eight different flavors, he has started publishing a book of short stories written in The Koch Rajbongshi language with a pen in his hand recently met with an accident. The connoisseurs wish good health and a long life in the nectar of the reverence of all those who are determined who are not disappointed even in many sorrows, sorrows, pains and obstacles.
