Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur paid visit to Bongaigaon

A Correspondent, Bongaigaon, September 7 :The newly appointed Chief Secretary of the state Paban Kumar Borthakur today visited the district commissioner Nabadeep Pathak, chief executive officer of the district council Nadira Jasmine, and district development commissioner Bhaskar Das. The meeting was attended by Circle Officers Runav Ramchiari, Ritimani Das, Sujata Goswami, Pallabjyoti Nath, Assistant Commissioners Shilpi Rekha Pandit, Shyamashree Shaikia, Ashish Kalita, Masum Yusuf Ahmed, Bongaigaon Municipality Executive Officer Bhargav Kalita, Abhayapuri Municipality Executive Officer Tanmay Ghosh and departmental heads Chief Secretary Borthakur reviewed the development works of Fisheries Development, Municipalities, Public Works Roads, Health, Public Health Engineering, Agriculture, Urban and Rural Planning Department, APDCL, Animal Husbandry etc. and the flagship schemes implemented by the departments in their work. The Chief Secretary took note of the difficulties and asked to resolve them by talking to senior ranking officers of the department over the phone. He also gave advice on completion of some works that are lagging behind. He also urged senior officials to concentrate on efforts of the Chief Minister of Assam to make Assam as one of the top 5 states in India. The Chief Secretary has called for the discussion on the construction of a cow house through MGNREGA. If it can be implemented, it will be a new initiative for Assam and if this work starts from Bongaigaon district It will be a matter of pride for Bongaigaon district. The Chief Secretary also held a separate meeting with the officers of the Assam Civil Service.
