Governor Mukhi inaugurates ‘Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management’

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, September 6: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the "Sewa Bharati Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management'' and launched a one year long ‘Advanced Diploma in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment’ affiliated to "Assam Science and Technology University in a function held in Yognilayam, Abhaypur, North Guwahati today. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that nowadays special focus is being given on safety, health and environment all over the world, because these are topics related to public concern. Accidents happen due to inattention and ignorance related to industrial work. According to the latest figures of the International Labor Organization (ILO), more than six thousand people die every day due to this reason. Lauding the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prof. Mukhi said that the country is touching new heights of development under his able leadership. Foreign companies are investing extensively in India. The country is progressing very fast in the construction and industry sector. In such times, the introduction of courses on Safety, Health and Environment for the youth aspiring to work in the construction and industry sector is a great achievement of Sewa Bharati. The Governor also urged the officers of the institute to run courses in first aid, fire fighting, personal protection, disaster management and environmental protection in the coming times, so that the youth of the Northeast can get employment in these areas as well. Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramukh, RSS Parag Abhyankar, Chairman, Governing Body Seva Bharati Institute of Fire Safety and Disaster Management Akhil Kumar Das, President, Seva Bharati Purbanchal Ramen Sharma , MD, Noomaligarh Refinery Limited Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan along with a host of other dignitaries were present in the inaugural function.
