76th Independence day celebrated centrally at Margherita

Staff Reporter, Tinsukia, August 15: The Sub-Divisional (Civil) Administration celebrated the 76th Independence Day with much pomp and grandeur at Central Field, Margherita. Palash Rajkumar Ahom, ADC i/c, Margherita hosited the National Flag as the Chief Guest today. Speaking on the occasion Ahom, recalled the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters in the pursuit of freedom. He remarked that, today we have come a long way and witnessed 75 years of freedom as we celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and hoisted our National Flag at each house, office, school and establishment. He encouraged all to keep up with the spirit and work towards nation building. The marching parade was led by Parade Commander Pankaj Bora, S. I. Digboi. Many school children also participated in the plethora of cultural events. The celebration ended with distribution of plant saplings to all esteemed guests by the North East Sanjeevani Society of Margherita.
