MLA Gam inaugurated MRFPCL mustard oil mill at Majuli

Staff Reporter, Majuli, July 27: Bhuban Gam, MLA, Majuli LAC along with District Commissioner and officials of District Agriculture Department visited the office of "Majuli Riverbank Farmer Producer Company Limited" at Natun Bokora and attended the inauguration of the newly connected mustard mill on July 27. The more efficient mill will produce more sweetened oil at lower prices which will meet a long-standing demand in the region. The mill will undoubtedly contribute to the realization of the goal of "Yellow Majuli" under the flagship program of the district administration "Amar Majuli" will be able to provide. The Common Service Center of the pharma producer company was inaugurated at the same function today. MLA and District Commissioner inaugurated the construction of the Common Service Center of Jengraimukh Agri Farmer Producer Company Limited at 2nd Borpomua village at 3 pm. The establishment of two Farmer Producer Companies Limited in the mainly agricultural district is very promising. The Commissioner said the two companies will be able to open up new horizons in exporting locally produced agricultural products to the open market and at national and international levels. Such initiatives will also help in socio-economic development of the people of the district and attract the younger generation towards scientific agriculture. Later, the Commissioner visited the paddy procurement center of Food Corporation of India at Phuloni with the Hon'ble MLA and took stock of the progress of paddy procurement work. The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has procured about 853.20 quintals of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) at the center so far during the current crop season. The shop was inaugurated by the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission near the Commissioner's office today in conjunction with the “Azadi Ka Amrit Festival”. The shop was inaugurated by Additional Commissioner Kartik Kalita. Arrangements have been made for the purchase of flags produced by self-help groups. The program will be held at Gaon Panchayat offices, government affordable shops and permanent shops of self-help groups in the district on August 13-15.
